New jobs at Company Three

As we join the Arts Council’s National Portfolio, we’re excited to announce two new permanent jobs at Company Three: a new Producer (Exchange and Relationships) and Company Co-ordinator. You can find out more about both jobs here.

We know that applying for jobs is draining, demoralising and a whole lot of work, so we wanted to share some of the things we do to try and make the process a little bit easier.

Job Packs
We take care to publish these with only the information you'll need to apply. If you need them in a different format, just contact us and we'll do that for you, whatever you need. We try and avoid jargon. We don't just say 0.6 role. We say "this means 3 days a week".

Person specification
We recruit based on person specs. In our packs, you'll see exactly what we're looking for and when we'll assess it (e.g in application or interview). Our assessment is on ABILITY, not experience (except in a few key things where experience is essential).

In most application packs we say these important words: "You don't have to have done this before." Imposter syndrome is more real for some people than others. If you feel you could do the job and you meet the spec, apply! If there's something in the person spec that you're not sure about - contact us. We can tell you how important it is and whether there might be a way we could help you gain that ability through training or experience.

Applying
We ask for a CV and a cover letter. The cover letter doesn't have to be complex and beautifully written. Just be straightforward and tell us how you meet the person spec, step by step. If you'd rather apply a different way (e.g. by video or audio), get in touch.

Getting information
We're always happy to have a chat about your application. We’re running open drop in Zoom sessions for both of the jobs we’re currently advertising. If you can’t make them, email us and we'll set up a time for a chat.

Contact
We will keep you informed throughout the application process. We will confirm your application has been received when the deadline closes and then again when we've shortlisted. We will never leave you hanging waiting for a response.

Interview questions
We share our interview questions in advance of the interview. We want to test your ability to do the job thoughtfully, not to react at speed under pressure in an entirely false situation that doesn't in any way replicate what your actual job will be like.

Interviews
Our interviews are friendly, inclusive, discursive and kind. We always have a C3 member in them. We want you to do your best and set up to make that possible. We'll do whatever you need to make it accessible and we'll always make time for questions at the end.

Feedback
We provide personal feedback to everyone we interview. (We sadly don't have the capacity to do this to everyone who applies because we sometimes get 50+ applications, but in some circumstances this might be possible)

Working at C3
We put staff welfare and happiness first. We are an inclusive, diverse team with a deep commitment to equity in our practice. We offer 25 days holiday (pro rata), training and support. Our members are amazing. There are always biscuits.

More
We're constantly trying to do better in how we recruit and we're always open to feedback and suggestions. Please tell us what you'd like to see us do more or differently.
